  I think CBGB was the only club named by Couch, but he had plenty of other comments about not going to the Village and not going to places where you're using the same door handles and forks as the homos.

  Back-rubs and wrestling in your underwear seemed to be sparks that ignited frequent homo roommate orgies, according to Couch's morning worship comments.

  It is somewhat obscure, but there was at least one morning worship where Couch went off on not putting trash in the garbage and garbage in the trash. The difference was that ordinary trash was separated from food garbage in the hoppers (hoppers were closets at the end of the hall where rubbish, recyclables, and donated crap were to be put). So if you had a pizza box that was greasy and had some cheese stuck to the lid, did it go in the trash or the garbage? In the garbage.

  How much damage has internet done against the The Watchtower Society ?

  in the beginning of internet the society was worried about the information published exposing its falsehood.

  so, i wonder how many people lost the society on account of forums and web sites like this.

  They lost a lot of elders and servants to Internet porn! But that was back when Internet connected computers had to be in a public area of the home and recorded internet history for the wife and everyone else to examine.
  

  Now that all those brothers have WT-approved tablets and browsers that provide 'private' Internet browsing, they can be hardcore porn addicts and remain pillars in the congregation.

  "Honey, I have to stay in my den and work on my talk tonight, so don't disturb me. Do we have any more hand lotion and kleenex for my dry hands and runny nose? And if you hear me shout, 'Oh god, yes!', it will be because I thought of a good illustration finally."

  To some degree, I think the decline started around 2000 in some of the things I was in bethel. 9/11 gave the corporation a temporary boost in enthusiasm and numbers. After that, the economic meltdown around 2008 didn't give any real boost to enthusiasm or numbers like I'd thought it might. WT still boasts about increases, but there is the increase in 'anointed' that they don't talk about, and decreases elsewhere that they try to whitewash.
  

  Regarding their "Master Plan", the GB is completely reactionary. These are guys whose master plan was to build their headquarters on a toxic waste site. I think they're going to try to sell the buildings that would make them money and convince the sheeple to drive over to the halls in the low-rent neighborhoods.

  And then there was the issue of not calling someone Bro or Sis until:

  • they had been to enough meetings and studied long enough to earn this 'privilege'
    
  • they became publishers
  • they answered some silly bible/WT questions and got dunked in water

  In the meantime, they were addressed by their first name or Mr./Miss/Mrs. So-and-so.

  Who oversees the money for the WT?

  when the wt sells property for a billion dollars profit, who decides what that money is going to be used for?.

  when all the money comes in from all the kingdom halls bank accounts worldwide, did all that money go into one big account and who has authority to spend it and cut some checks to whoever?

  when all the monthly donations come in to the watchtower headquarters, who decides distribution, and to who?

  But in the broadcast last month, Lett assured everyone that the GB was more careful with WT assets than with their own money.

  Hmmm, if that were the case, wouldn't they be that much more eager to open the books and show everyone where the money is coming from and going? We can only conclude that they aren't really that careful.

  I used to think that bethel was a wonderful place. I was deceived. Now that I'm out and getting on with my life, I see it as a hell hole that I wish I had never, ever set eye on.

  My story is different, but plenty in his account that I can relate to. I'll tell more, someday.
  

  I still sometimes have nightmares where I'm in bethel. I'm so very happy when I wake up and realize that the nightmare is over. I have a degree. I have the freedom that comes with earning a good income and no more bondage to the cult.

  How do believers explain this slaughter?

  I'd looked up what little WT had to say about this and other accounts of the slaughter of innocents a long time ago, about the only statement I recall is that these people had no special right to life--it was as if WT was justifying it by saying, "people die all the time, so this is no big deal that he would slaughter thousands of his own chosen nation."

  And although it was supposedly wrong in this account to conduct a census, there was no specifically stated law against it. There are plenty of times in the bible that the populations are mentioned. This all just sounds like an excuse for the angry desert sky-daddy to go on a random murderous rampage against his own worshipers. Nice.
